Ordering Gryphon tomorrow, which tune for 3rd spot?

Finially got the money thanks to an early b-day and xmas present so Ill be ordering my gryphon programer tomorrow im super excited

I do quite a bit of hwy driving around the 65-75mph mark and in MO its pretty hilly and my truck now has some real troubles getting up the hills especially pulling a boat, and i would really like to see some mpg gains but most people say they get the best mpg's out of a performance tune

I just need to figure on what custom tunes to go with
1. I need to get an 87 performance since thats the fuel we have at my farm when I fill up there
2. I need some sort of 87 oct heavy/performance tow tune for pulling larger wagons(flat ground), but will also use it for pulling boats and stuff for fishing(lots of hills)
3.??? we have 93 around school and arround my farm so i was possibly thinking a 93 performance tune or any other ideas

I'm very pleased with my set up. I kept the canned towing tune as I dont do a lot of towing and it's adequate. You might discuss with them to see if the canned tune fits your needs. I have an 87 Perf and a 93 Perf. I run the 87 most of the time as it does great on the highway as well as around town. The downshifting for passing, etc is awesome.

Good deal. If you are like me, you will seldom feel the need for anything other than the 87 Perf. It really is a strong tune and saves on the cost of fuel as well.

Agreed! I have a custom tow tune and an 87 performance/economy tune and left the 91+ tune alone as a "canned" tune. I've never even felt the need to try it.

what kind of gains have you guys noticed?

Seat in the pants, tire burning kind of gains...

Or just better shifting etc...

Right now with a Magnaflow exhaust airaid intake k&n filter.
Leveled with 35's and 3:73 gears.

EXT cab short bed 4x4 5.4L

I'm running a 16.49 sec 1/4 at 88.94 MPH

What kind of times have you seen with the Gryphon

My 87 Perf runs great on the highway and does all I need in passing. It will downshift at 65-70 mph and runs strong. I haven't taken it past 95, but it was running strong. Someday, I should try my 93 again, been a long time.

And my gains are much like Bluejay's. I've never felt the need to do 0-60 or 1/4 mile runs. Passing performance was improved greatly and my fuel economy improved too, by about 2 mpg.

These are the 3 I have. I have only run my 87 custom tow tune so far and it works well. I don't want to change back and forth everytime I have to tow something but towing season is almost over and I look forward to trying the 87 performance custom tune out.

I have 87 performance, 87 tow, and 93 performance. I have used both performance tunes and love them. The 87 performance pulls harder in addition to shifting better than stock. The 93 performance is great. Best performance upgrade I have used in a single step. (besides a supercharger I put on an older f150) I have been running the 93 performance almost all the time. Like to have the power there when I need it. I have never stomped it from the line to try to induce wheelspin, but rather get grip and hit the gas. I don't doubt that it would light 'em up pretty good.

You will notice the difference.

Got the gryphon yesterday, It is really simple to use and i'm really liking it
It took me a while to get the right tire size in to get my speedo correct, but then i realized that it comes w/ 3.73's programed in it plus my tires are a bit shorter than the number that they give for a 315/75R16 so i just measured them. But, over all the truck runs great and shifts are firm and crisp no more lagging, I put 93 oct in the other day and im gonna run for a little bit to get the rest of the 87 out then put it on the 93 perf to see what it does
