Just curious. Is the reason that you can do so little for the 4.6 because Ford is tuning it near the max already? Whereas, they leave a lot on the table with the 5.4?
Those are nice improvements for the 5.4.

As far as reliable power increases, yes the 4.6L is pretty good power wise out of the box. What we do to make drastic changes in gasoline vehicles lies in how we fine tune such things as adjusting the fly by wire throttle responses to work as if more like a cable driven system.
Combine that with our TQ management reductions, some trans shift schedule adjustments and it will be like a new truck all over again.

Yes, I understand that, but was talking specifically about power. I find it odd that they get all that out of the 4.6 and leave so much power on the table with the 5.4.

How much will they be selling for?
Do we get all 3 tunes loaded on the programmer?
Is the torque management adjusted or is that something we have to do on our own?
When can we expect the 2010 F150 to be supported, I just got off the phone with one of your peeps and gave him all the info he needed to bring to the Engineer. What should I expect as far as wait?

Its the same exact truck. You should be able to order a 2009 one and be on your way.
The TRUCK may be the same, but the hex code (coding in the PCM) could be quite different. Unless the tune is built for this hex code, it won't work.

Very good point. When I got my Edge back in 07 it wouldn't work on my 05 because the hex code was not supported. Everyone pointed finger's at my truck as the problem but a month later Edge came out with an update that supported my specific code.
The engineer replied to my inquiry and said we currently have tuning available for the 2010 4.6L and 5.4L 3 valve engines in the 1950 Cortex and 1865 Flashpaq programmers.
We are still working on the 4.6L 2V motor as I type this and hope to have it done soon.

First off thank you for giving us this info. Are you guy's planning on doing anymore tuning for the 4.6L 3V ??? I would purchase one of your tuner's in a heartbeat if there was more increase in hp/tq for the 4.6L.

Thanks for the great info. I will have to order one of these this winter after I get my truck broke in all the way.
We try very hard to provide you and your vehicle with as much Power and Performance improvement as we can but we are not willing to sacrifice drivability or drivetrain longevity in the process like some of our competitors. Those reasons are why Superchips has been the longest running and most reliable tuning company in the industry.
That being said, the programmers power figures shown can be increased with the addition of a catback exhaust and in the near future a cold air intake system (which we will custom calibrate a program for several of the popular brands available) and will complement the product with additional gains.
