temps what are you guys running

I have a 03 150 with the 5.4. I got a scanguage II to do mileage stuff. What engine temps are you guys running? My truck runs 188-190deg all the time. I thought I had saw that troyer has said that these trucks should be running 210+ I got this truck used so who knows what stat they might have put in.

My '06 F150 5.4L is consistently in the 191* to 195* range, on rare occasions in hot weather and stop and go traffic it will hit 201*. I have never seen anything higher than 201* though.

Troyer might have been talking about cht(cylinder head temp). Which is more accurate than engine coolant temp. ECT is derived from the cht and is usually 10-15 degrees cooler. So if you want a better reading monitor the cht.

Agreed! I monitor CHT and mine's normally in the 210 range. If the engine is working hard, I've seen it reach 216, and if it's "loafing", it drops down to around 204.

My engine hangs around 200* and the transmission is usually around 155* when I'm just cruising.
