VMP or Gryphon tunes?

I bought a Volant Cold Air Intake and dont want to put it on till I get some custom tunes. I have been reading and hear alot about VMP tunes on a Xcal3 and Gryphon tunes. I like how the Gryphon has the display on the dash does the Xcal3 have that? Also is there any real difference between the two or are they both very similar? thanks.

Those two companies are both excellent and you will be happy with tunes from either one. It comes down to the hardware. The Xcal3 does not have gauges, you download and remove the hardware. The Gryphon, has gauges. You can remove the hardware if you wish or leave it mounted in the truck. Mine stays on my dsh. Would be lost without them.

the gryphon is offered only by PHP

Both great companies and I think the opinion on this forum will depend on what tunes the person has. I have VMP and could not be happier but the I am sure from the responses on this forum that service from PHP is equally as good. For me it came down to which device I would rather have.

By the way I thought I saw a note on here that Justin is suspended from this forum, is that true?

Yes and no. He was a an advertising vendor on the site and had a paying vendor user name as such. Once he ceased to advertise here, his vendor name was closed and he was asked to sign up as a member.

I can't speak for every one of our customers, but I don't believe we have complaints about the programmer or tunes (rarely we do, but they're addressed as the issue comes to our attention).

The only complaint, really, is the wait for custom tunes, but that's based entirely on the sheer number of orders we receive, and aside from a few odd circumstances (usually with military customers being deployed), customers are handled in the order in which we receive their orders.

Regarding Justin... he programs the X3 from SCT (as do we, FWIW), and I've only heard good things about his tuning. Last I heard, his wait is just over a week for custom tunes. If our wait is too long, I don't think you'd be disappointed with VMP!

I agree I dont think you would be disappointed with either company.

And as far as wait I think both companies might be equal in that area also, when I ordered my custom tunes from Justin at the time the way was about 3 weeks so I'm assuming I ordered during one of their busy periods.

I can only offer up my experience with PHP, but everything I read about Justin's work is top notch.

I'm one of those "lucky" customers, who's order didn't get processed as smoothly as I or Bill/Corey would have liked. (Stuff happens) However, I can tell you that Corey will keep trying to resolve problems until they are. There are not a lot of companies who will go the extra mile for you. Based on that alone, I strongly recommend ordering from PHP.
