They were potentially effected, but the problem seemed to be in the cable, not the rest of the hardware. A cable replacement apparently fixes the non-working unit if the problem occurs.

Yes, but it's a rather expensive cable, and if you're buying a used programmer, it loses its warranty.

If i already baught an edge brand new, how much would it cost to convert it? I have not found any price lists on PHP forum or website?
