What kind of problems. need to be more specific. never had a problem with mine. Did you make sure the gears and tires are correct?

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused here. First, he has a fifth gear, then hes got a "locked" tranny that's "slipping". Maybe, he was trying to climb the hill in neutral (the gear position just forward of "Drive")?

And, Jdiddy, shift firmness will not cause the tranny to "lock" or "slip". It simply changes the time interval between clutch release and re-engagement during a shift.

hmm edge programmers having tranny issues. thats interesting.

maybe the op is thinking of the converter locking and unlocking calling it 5th gear. you know 1st 2nd 3rd 4th then converter lock up (5th).

when i first put the edge programmer on my truck i noticed the torque converter doesnt unlock on an incline unless i press the gas a little harder than normal. imo superchips flashpaq felt a lot better at shifting.

Wish mine had worked that way! There's way too much unused power in this engine when the TC unlocks.

the problem is that there is no throttle response when the tc is locked. with the factory settings my truck could accelerate enough to maintain speed on a small hill without unlocking. now when i gently press the gas the rpm's dont change at all, i have to press it hard enough to make it unlock to get any response from the engine.

So confused... Be a little more specific and people could help a little more, don't get so defensive.
