Have justin's 87 perf, 87 tow and 87 econ tune. I just leave it in performance, I love it it really changes how the truck drives. If you read about Justin's tunes it says that you can tow with any one of his tunes. I pull a boat that weighs in around 4,000 and for short trips to the local lake I leave it in performance, however if I am going down the highway a few hours I will then use the tow tune, which is a very good tune that helps hold OD on the highway without shifting back and forth.

I don't think you'll regret getting a custom tuned Xcal3 from Justin @ VMP Tuning !!

Hey jkieser, did you get the SCT X3 from Justin @ VMPTuning? I just ordered one from him on Friday, and I was wondering how yours was working out. Can't wait to get mine.

anyone go from a hypertech power programmer III to a custom tune SCT X3? i have the hypertech and then installed an airade intake, it was noticable power gain then i reprogrammed it again thinking it might be able to pull out some more power since it would notice more air comming in. idk seems like it lost power when i did that, maybe because the hypertech is for a stock motor? are all the SCT X3 custom tunable? i seen one on ebay for 379$ sorry for all the questions jus tryna get straightend out lol

Most generic tunes are for stock setup only with not to radical of exhaust changes.
Sct xcal3 is custom tunable. You answered your own question on the hypertech and cai. You might be running lean with the cai and hypertech.
So to the op for the highjack to answer a question.
