Gryphon Help!! Asap

hey so one of my fuses blew in my truck for my trailer lights and in the process of replacing it something happened....my gryphon constantly says the message.

make sure ignition is on

do not start

gryphon is initializing

whether the key is off or on it reads this and i can't do anything and i don't want to start it up... so how do i fix this?? can i just unhook the bat and reconnect?? and please don't ridicule me for using the search but i just want a quick response because i have to leave in two hours with it and still have work to do...

thanx alot,
wes

Try unplugging it from the OBDII port and then unplug batt then reinstall batt and plug it back in

I doubt you even need to disconnect the battery. I've seen a screen like this in the past - usually from having the Gryphon plugged in after reconnecting the battery or restoring power to the diagnostic port.

Unplug the Gryphon, turn the ignition ot ON (don't start) and plug the Gryphon back in. You should see a screen showing your hex code. If you see that, hit the Enter button and you should be golden.

That's a hoot, Thumper!

The advice was from me, but, I listen to Janet (even though she doesn't think I do)

I don't really know why I included her in my screen name, except that I think of us as a "team".

Keep in mind that after two changes of landlords (The Ropers & Furley), and three different blond roommates (Chrissy, Cindy, & Terry), Jack & Janet kept living together in that same apartment downstairs from Larry the used car salesman.

I prefer to think of it as "happily married"! But, Kiwis are pretty smart people - it pays to listen to what they have to say.

If Bill couldn't help, I'd say it's got a REAL problem. Have you asked Edge about returning it?
