Thumbs up VMP tunes, XCal2, Banks Intake!

Well I got all of these at the same time today, so needless to say I had to install them right away!

The intake went on without any issues and I love the look of it! The sound at WOT is really deep, especially coupled with my MBRP exhaust.

I got 3 tunes (87 performance, 87 tow, 87 mileage), and my XCal2 from Justin. I went with the XCal2 just because I didn't need the additional features that the XCal3 offered. At first the XCal didn't recognized my ECM code (ECM not supported), so I was a little mad because I thought I might have given Justin the wrong ECM code. By using the SEARCH button and the SCTflash.com site I was able to determine that 2007+ F-150s needed a firmware update. Once I updated the firmware, I was good to go. Right now I just tested out 87 performance tune....VERY nice! I won't say it throws you back in your seat at blistering speeds, but you have to remember my last car was a modified 2004 Cobra. I will say that the shifts are firmer, the truck sounds like a truck at WOT, and it definitely moves when you punch the gas. There is no longer a lag in acceleration. I really like how the tune makes the truck feel and I am going to test the other tunes over the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to testing the 87 mpg tune when I drive from S. Georgia to Las Vegas in a month.

I have to thank Justin for getting back to me very quickly, answering all of my questions, and getting my tunes to me extremely fast!

One final note to people looking into tunes....do your research and use the search button. I found a wealth of knowledge that I was able to use when I talked to Justin about what I wanted with my tunes.

When you get the intake on....close all of your windows, turn off the music, and then stomp on the gas.....the sound of air being sucked into the intake is just sweet!

No 93 performance? That is too bad, you cant see what these trucks are capable of with just a tune.

I can't believe that I'll be glad the next time I have to fill up. Going to try out the 93 Performance tune from Justin and see how it does. It's amazing how much better these trucks drive when tuned correctly. Seems like Ford would want them to perform this good straight from the factory. Seems like everybody is pleased with the VMP tunes

Agreed. I swear driveability is much better when running a custom tune compared to stock. It's so much better than the factory tuning !!

I thought about it, but I had two factors in my decision:
1. Rising gas prices
2. I'm moving to N. California where I'm not sure they have 93

Sacramento-ish area...probably just north of that. Yeah I figured 91 would be as good as it would get there.

I've already got the intake and exhaust . So , I know how the intake sounds . I was just waiting on the Xcal 2 with the tunes . 93 perf , 93 mileage, 87 perf. 87 perf. was great !! now , I've got the 93 milage in and its great as well . i just drove it on the interstate for ove 2 1/2 hrs . the frist hour . I stayed between 70 and 75 . I was getting 20 to 20.2 miles mpg. Then, i got passed by some other car so i couldnt stand it . I had to speed up this time 80 to 90 mph . just to check to see if justin took off my speed limiter .I passed a 03 f150 at 90 mph I passed him like he was sitting still i looked down and i was at 115 mph . LOL So , I guess he took it off .
