Gas Prices in Canada

You Americans think you have it bad with gas prices, here in ST. John's NL, Canada gas prices are at $5.06 per gallon. I am ordering a Gryphon from Bill and it one of his tunes saves me 1-3 MPG then it would pay for itself in no time. To fill up My 2008 F 150 4.6 cost me $180 canadian which is on par with the US dollar these days and our provincial government has our gas prices regulated!!!!

$180 to fill your tank? You got a 140L tank in there or something? I can't wait till it goes up to $1.50/L ($5.68/G). Also 5.06/Gallon would be $1.34/L and the highest in Canada is 1.25/L right now isnt it?

$1.24/L for regular, add $0.10/L for premium. I plan on running it right through $1.50+/L this summer as well.

Well BP the second gas station on SR84 out of Port Everglades is at $3.51.9. We are working hard here in ft. lauderdale catch up with you. We are told to expect a boost when they make the switch to summer blend.

All I know is - I'm glad filling stations take "plastic". Now it we could just figure out some way to convince the credit companies to take plastic, forever, we'd be set!

Seriously though, automakers need some kind of incentive to produce vehicles with the pulling power we need, that don't use as much gas. I can't believe the technology doesn't exist, but right now, I suspect there's no incentive for automakers to make that investment. If we all voted with our "pocket book"? (I.e., don't buy ANY new vehicles. Just keep the old ones running for a couple of years.) I bet there'd be some advances.

Nothing like a few "down years" in profits to make the lawyers and "management trained" folks in upper management listen to thier engineers!

Holy moley! I guess that would be why we've had so many Canadian customers lately... And here I am getting upset at $3.50/gallon. Shame on me.:o

Same here. In BC you have to prepay for your gas now meaning you pretty well have to pay with a credit card at the pump. The other option is to drop off your debit card inside the store, then come back out and pump then go back in and pay, then come back out and drive away.
The highest cutoff in town I could find was $125 but here gas is 1.299 so I always have to put my card in twice.
