Hi Signmaster,

You've raised a very interesting point and we agree, as we've seen all across the country that as gas prices got to their highest points last year during the summer, the basic cost delta between regular and premium stayed at the same basic average of about 20 cents per gallon average all across the country. There were and always will be a few exceptions, but by and large, that is the basic cost delta between 87 & premium, 20 cents per gallon, regardless of where overall gas prices go. Here where we are, it's only *10* cents per gallon, but that's fairly rare, and won't been seen by many people of course.

So as gas prices go higher and higher, that cost delta between regular & premium becomes a smaller and smaller percentage difference, and that continues the higher that overall gas prices go.

That gives the small mileage gains that many people see from the Superchip a better chance of making up for more of that cost delta, though it's still not appropriate to expect the Superchip to ever make up for all of that cost difference, that's rarely going to happen.

It's interesting to look at the actual financial impact of running the Superchip on premium gas as gas prices go higher and higher, due to that same basic cost delta of 20 cents per gallon remaining in place in most areas as gas prices go higher and higher. The net effect is that the percentage of price difference continues to drop lower and lower, the higher that gas prices go.

Do you always have to run premium gas when you install a new chip/module? (all chip brands, just not superchips)

Moose-Man,

I left those silly "swear to god" games behind in 3rd grade, if memory serves. But even way back then, when we did that in writing, we'd at least capitalize His name.

Moose-Man,

For future reference, you can safely assume that whatever I post here, I *am* saying in the presence of my Creator.

I won't "swear to God", as that presumes that unless I "swear to God", anything I say is a deliberate deception designed to line my pockets, because I sell a product. See my point?

You might also want to give some thought to this: those who would deliberately deceive to line their own pockets most likely aren't going to suddenly tell the truth just because someone asked or demanded that they "swear to god". God, for those of us who choose to believe, is *everywhere*, so I choose to believe that anytime I say something, or type a written word, He is already seeing it, so me agreeing to "swear to God" is actually quite meaningless for me, I'm basically already doing that.

Thumbs up

2001 F-150 Sport
I just installed a flip-chip yesterday afternoon. It took me approx. 1 hour to install. The most difficult part was removing the battery and tray. The most nerve-wracking was cleaning the port. I ended up with no problems at all. Truck started right up with the chip. I really like the improved performance although I think I'm coming down with "superfootitis"!
So much for gas mileage.

My uncle has a chip in his 94 Lightning and he has 260,000+ miles on it; and he has never had any problems at all, still on original tranny... so NO it will not harm your engine. And he drives it hard to!
