Very Cool,
I checked out the digital dash last night, it was fun to play around with. The only thing I didn't see was something that said fuel, I have to find out what the rest of the terms mean. Thanks Neal

HI!... GINOSF-150 : There is one for fuel. It says FUEL. It tells you how many gallons you have left in your tank. It kinda helps out when your low fuel light comes on and you start to get worried if you'll make it to the next gas station.8-)

The fuel one isn't telling you how much fuel you have left... how do I know? because this morning with my gas light on, the gauge was fluttering between 79-80 while the truck was idling... I think it may be a fuel pressure gauge or an air/fuel mixture gauge. When I'm driving and step on it, the number drops down to the high 40's for a bit, but usually returns to the 80ish mark.

This is sweet stuff. I'm about to go try out ya'll little trick with the dash. I have a 99 XL sport, and I was wondering if ya'll knew if its possible to do a cluser swap with a cluster that has the tach on it and if it would work with out any extra wires?

Question

Anyone know how to keep the tach on so it doesn't shut off when you shut the truck off? I would much rather see the tach than the odometer! Also, by looking in my service manual, it looks as if the white/pink wire that runs into the instrument cluster runs the tach. I tried hooking an aftermarket tach up to this wire, but it didn't work? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott

I've been playing with the fuel section, and following the webpage from mustangworld. If anyone is interested in keeping more accurate track of the mileage: the last time I filled up the tank, I took readings every time I put a gallon in. Because the tank isn't a perfect cylinder or box, the rate at which the level rises or falls depends on the level of the tank. The biggest changes happened around full where it's something like 10-12 numbers per gallon. Near empty (1/4 tank) it's more like 4-7 numbers per gallon. Well that's enough engineering for now.

GSXR: I don't think it's gas sloshing around, because it doesn't matter if I have a full tank of gas or the gas light is on, if I sit in my driveway it's always in that range.

Neal,
This is good stuff here I am fixing to go try it now. I wonder what other "hidden" things there are amongst our Ford creations.
