Picking up 2016 Explorer Platinum!
So sometime this week I am picking up a 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum in Magnetic. (for my mom) What would you use on it Merlin? And options from others would be wanted as well. and yes. The stupid dealer already had it touched by the dirty buffers I told them NOT to touch it for delivery

After proper cleaning and correction, my two favorite LSP's right now are Menzerna Power Lock (synthetic sealant) and C.A.R. Bullet Proof (coating). Both are extremely easy to apply and remove and seem to last quite well. I should also add that both of them will work well with the color of that beautiful Explorer.

Nice looking Explorer.
My course of action if it were mine and what I have in my supply cabinet (which is all Megs supplies).
1. Wash
2. Decontaminate (nanoskin or clay)
3. Polish- Meguiars Ultimate Polish with a Dual Action polisher
4. Wax- Meguiars Ultimate Wax or Colinite 845 by hand.
Then I use Megs quick detailer and quick wax in between waxes. I find the Megs wax to bring out the darker colors a little more than Colinite for some reason, but they are both great.
Enjoy!

I am going with 2stroked on this one, C.A.R. Bullet Proof or OPT OptiCoat coating.
I am taking a guess mom is not an OCD detailing type like us, and something with a longer time to it is a better option.
I have not used C.A.R. yet, but from the reviews it is easier to use than OptiCoat.
The top of the cab and the cap on my '06 are going on 4 years on OptiCoat with salt spray every winter. - Only wash and ONR at QD ratio have been on it.
This was taken this past weekend, after 2 weeks of driving it in the rain ( still washing the salt off the roads ) and it still beads water.

got it on Tuesday. Apparently the dealer had it coated at ziebart ( costed them $600 or so the sticker said  they did a crappy job ) the coating itself is pretty good. Minus the wax residue that was on the trim.. And some crap sprayed all over the back of the passanger seat.. Didn't notice that during the test drive.. Oh well. These photos are after a wash and tire shine. Still waiting for money to order some good products for it. In temped to get something like cquarts uk or some sealant from shine supply or poorboy.. Or get the whole thing wrapped in a clear bra.. Ha. That would cost a crap ton of cash so maybe not
