Removing f150 emblems

Been reading on here and found I can remove the ecoboost door bc its just double sided tape. I would like to remove the silver fx2F150 emblem from the fenders and tailgate. Looking to plasidip them darker to match my black truck. Are they double sided tape as well or pegs? Have not seen anything definitive. Called the dealer and they said double sided but want yalls opinion.

Thanks
Quad

yes, they are double stick tape only. ( I just remover mine this week )

I used a little bit of mineral spirits to soak on the tape, then a piece of twine to cut between the emblem and tape

Excellent just want to go for that all black look or nicely dark. Would hate to start running something behind the fx2F150 and find that there are pegs and then have that thing hitting the paint over the years.

There are absolutely pins on the back of the F150 emblem. You can remove them, but there are holes in the fender that the pins go into for alignment.

Ah please don't remove the Eco-Boost badge. It's not as much fun if I think I've only smoked a 5.0

You can plastidip the emblems without removing them from your truck. Check out some youtube videos.

Remove them with fishing line behind the marker in a flossing motion, pour or spray some goo gone on the left over residue, clean all that crud off... then clean the paint off with alcohol on a microfiber cloth and reapply with red 3m double sided tape

Just a little advice from when I used to be a painter...

Heat is great for removing emblems and decals...

Natural heat is best...stick the car in the sun for about an hour, then try to remove the decal or emblem...I used to be able to remove the decals from the side of Toyota trucks (1990's) with leaving adheasive...

Emblems...let them heat up, and use a plastic putty knife from home cheapo...start at a corner and kinda pry up...if hot enough it should come off pretty clean.

You gotta be careful with a heat gun...you can get decals too hot then all they do is stretch and tear...also lift decal about 45 degrees off of the panel. Don't peel it back...lift it off...

3M general purpose adhesive remover works good for removing residual adhesive...

I just don't get it .... .... guess I won't either?

I can recall a time when painted badges look like someone was too lazy to tape off or remove them before painting .... it wasn't a look one strived to imitate.

Shaved look meant badges were removed ....

I wouldn't go through the hassle of removing them just to Plasti-dip. It will only take you 10 minute to do a crazy good job of taping them off before spraying. When I hit the ones on my SD with Plasti-dip, I went a little farther by taping newspaper for a couple of feet around the emblems to keep over spray from getting to the paint.

If you do get over spray, it rolls off pretty easy with your clean bare fingers or clay.

They do! I saw them on my 2003 when I put 2009+ badges on.

Anyway, I sprayed label remover behind the badge so the tape could absorb it. use a plastic scraper (So i wouldn't damage the paint) to get it off. after removal, I used some more label remover to remove the excess. Besides the holes, you couldn't ever tell there was a badge there.

Anyone have a suggestion for filling in the holes without repainting the whole panel?
