Solution For Horrendous Water Spots/ Etching
Hello, I figured since I've been reading and learning things from this great forum for some time now, that it was time for me to finally contribute something.
As you can see from the pictures, my trucks windows have severe etching and water spots. I have tried all kinds of cleaners, even vinegar.
Finally I got around to trying 0000 steel wool along with 3M's "Perfect It II" compound. I also masked off all window trim to keep the compound away from it, and to make sure it didn't get scuffed by the steel wool
I folded the steel wool pad in half and applied a generous amount of compound, beginning to work along the edges, then an angled pattern one direction, overlapping and working downwards, every few minutes I would wipe the window clean with a dry microfiber cloth to check my progress.
Once I finished all the windows, I gave them a final cleaning with Stoner Invisible Glass. Then stood back and admired my work.
Hopefully this will help some of you ! _ Jeff
