Primer/filler spray can

Is there such a thing that's worth using- a primer/filler in a spray can? I have a 91 Bronco that the hood was replaced when a business sign fell off of a roof and landed in the middle of the hood about 15 years ago. The paint is peeling in spots and I want a good primer/filler before I have the truck painted. I've also got various spots on the truck that I intend to sand and primer as well like mall parking lot paint dings, rock chips, etc. I just hate to fire up the compressor for the small work and then have to clean the gun and mess up.

What you need is "high build" primer - Duplicolor has it.
