OEM Decals

Hi All...

I have a 2005 F150 supercrew FX4 true metallic blue color. I'm thinking about taking the FX4 decals off of the rear of the truck. Does anyone know if there will be outlines of the decals? Will there be a difference in the paint from being covered for almost 5 years? Anything I should worry about?

Thanks,
Andy

There will most likely be some ghosting from the decals but it will fade to match the rest of the paint over time. I wouldn't worry about taking them off the only thing I will tell you is do not use a heat gun all you need to do is park the truck in the sun or use a hair dryer to take them off and then wash and wax the truck after your done.

I just took the decals off my 03 a couple months ago...left just the tiniest bit of an outline but I clayed, polished, and waxed the spot and now there's no trace

I had pin stripping on mine, and used a hair dryer and some WD40. The WD40 will get all of the stickiness off the paint. Its safe for paint. Just a helpful tip.
