Black Paint Correction/Not a Ford

Long story on this car.

Another detailer messed up the paint, the owner was not happy so they asked around for someone capable to fix. The dealership contacted Tony at Wash Solutions in Dallas, and Tony recommended me to do it, however I wasn't able to due to travel and surgery last week.

Turns out I did get a chance to work on it.

Basically looks like hologramed up, bad pads, dirty pads, wrong pads etc...

The process was to wash, 2 bucket method, foam gun, PB Super Suds and Wash
Clay/Megs 34 with Megs Blue Clay
Megs 105, with Green Lake and Purple Foamed Wool pad
PB PP, Black Lake Pad
PB BH, Blue Lake Pad
Wheels, PB Spray and Wash
Wells, Megs APC+/Hyperdressing
Tires, Optimum Tire Bond
Engine bay: Megs APC+ 4:1/PB NLD
Blackwow on all trim including wiper arms
PB NLD on interior door seals
PB PP using 4" White Lake CCS pad on Door jams

Wet Obsession/hand
Opti-seal/hand

Started at 8 am, finished at 6 pm.

Beautiful Job!

Tell the truth Rock...
You fell in that deep black paint at least once didn't you?
Nothing beats a properly detailed black vehicle.
I love Lexus paint jobs on the newer vehicles...something about that clear coat.

How did M105 work with the purple pad? You went straight to a black pad after the green and purple? What polisher(s) did you use?

Thanks much, it was a long day and to be honest, I would have liked to have more time with it.

105 finished well enough on the PFW pad to go right to PP. I "could" have used the white lake pad on the PP, infact on the test door I did use the white pad with 205 to see how it looked, then on the other half I had PP with the black and I thought the PP looked better...My other issue was time. I would have liked to hit it one more time so instead of doing a pass with the 205, I used the PP and worked the product more slowly and allowed it to almost disapear on the surface...that way the product was able to do what it was designed for.

I used both the Flex and the DA with the 3" PFW pads on the tight spots and the door jams/

I don't have a black vehicle - my truck is Arizona Beige.

Just want to let you know that 105 on PFW does a heck of a job in my opinion. I had Lumadar do my truck last winter when I was out in Socal - that's what he started out with on mine after claying. He used it on a rotary, and it even did a great job on the tailgate, which looks like it was a repaint. However, it wasn't ready for a LSP, but 205 with a Flex (I don't remember what pad he used) took care of that very nicely.
