It's getting COLD up here!

First winter with the truck and at this point (34 degrees) washing my truck by hand is out of the question. I still like to wash it once a week. Any suggestions? What do you guys do when its cold out? Wash Bay, Car Wash, etc.?

As long as it's above freezing:

What you could do is go to the quarter wash and blast the heavy stuff off with the wand set to Rinse. I do not like the soaps in those places because they can be caustic.

Use gloves. I use the yellow dish gloves...turn the cuff up so the water won't run down your arm.

Cold? Heck we've been having temps up in the mid 90's. Today it cooled down to 72 because of the rain.

Lol Ya i thought global warming was supposed to make temperatures rise not fall. Up here in Canada we seem to have skipped fall as well. Three weeks ago it was plus 30's and now there is snow on the ground and it is cold outside.

I'm 60 miles SW of New Orleans and maybe we'll get some cold temps in Jan or Feb. Right now 70's or 80's would be nice. 104 to 108 heat index temps were crazy last week even for this area.

I go to the touch free wash. I live in Coon Rapids and wash my truck two times a week. I also wax it once a month. Heated garage FTW.

What touchless do you use? I would like to do that but have read and heard the soaps can be hard on the paint.

Yes the soaps can be hard on the paint but they are far less harsh then salt.

I use the Fleetfarm car wash just off 35W and Lexington.

I drive by there 2x a day...I will look into it. Can't believe there is already SALT on the road. I wonder what the reality is with the car wash soaps. Is there any research?
