Buffer/polisher tips

So I have no clue about the different tips of buffer/polishing machines, pads, and what not. My mother in law gave me this orbital buffer from walmart to use to use on my truck so I went out and tried it.....Seemed to do okay but not nearly as good as ive seen as most people have mirror finishes and mine just wasnt there....now I dont have alot of money but I was looking at a local tool stores website and found a few polishers and wanted to get yalls advice on these which one might be better.....and is there a big difference between using a bonnet and a pad?

These are what im looking at

The types of polishers you have linked are for the more experienced or professional user. They can easily damage your paint in the hands of the inexperienced. I suggest that you read the detailing sticky provided. Then you can decide how deep into this you wish to get. here is the link. https://www.f150online.com/forums/ca...ng-sticky.html
