Exclamation Scratch prevention?

Hello,
a few days ago i had pro comp series 97 rims installed on my truck. i am yet to wash them since they are new and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to go about doing this without potentially destroying the black finish on them. im not sure how to clean them and dont want to scratch them.

thank you for any advice

-Fred

X2 soap and water and keep a good wheel sealer on it.

^^ Agree with both posts. I usually use the soapy water that's left after washing the paint. That and a dedicated wash mitt for rims. Or you can simply mix up a fresh batch just for your rims.

Same carwash soap...

you use on your paint is a best bet for clearcoat and/or painted rims.
No matter what you do they are eventually going to swirl and have micro marring at the least.

Between polishings after washing I use Meguiars NXT and Ultimate Quick Detailer. They both shine and hide micro marring and swirls and make black blacker.
