Dryer sheets?! Never heard of that before. I've heard of using them inside rather than air freshners and stuff... but outside? Hmph. Might give it a try.
I use bug/tar remover on my SS exhaust tip, but it has kerosene in it. Or at least it smells like it does.
Clay bar I know, but not for weekly cleanings.

I just use the wet towel that I used to dry the truck after it's weekly bath. After the bug guts have soaked for a while, just scrub them off. No chance of scrathing and you don't have to waste dryer sheets (never worked for me any how).

Wet dryer sheets, dipped in the wash bucket. Have to go over it with your wash mitt though, cause the sheet will leave a white haze from the softener in it.
Or, the scrubby side of these works great too

Seafoam Bugs B Gone - spray it on, let it sit for 1 minute, then wash with a regular mitt and soap. Similar to Bug Squash but you can buy it at Autozone.

Surf City Grime Destroyer works great. It's a thick gel you spray on and let dwell. I use it to pretreat heavy grime such as bugs before I do the wash.
