best way to blend paint

anyone got any tips for blending the paint where i repaired and repainted into the rest of the body?
tried using a 2000 grit sand paper and water, but it only messed up the paint and made it cloudy and dull looking

Best way to blend color happens with the paint gun and several applications of the same color in gradual shades. Wetsanding only evens out the top layer of clear coat, like removing orange peel.

Any pics of the area?

Get a DA polisher and you can polish out the whole truck and use it to apply wax......
A good tool to have.

You are going to need a rotary and the appropriate products to buff out after a wetsand. A DA doesn't have enough oomph.
