Restore Black Trim to Black?

I was wondering if yall could recommend some good products that would restore some of the exterior plastics on my Expedition and F150, on my F150 the step pads on the bed are starting to turn whiteish and the same thing is happening to the weathering strips around the windows on my Expedition, one of my cousins recommended "Black Wow", has anybody had any experience with this product? does it protect the black plastics and trims?

also is what would yall recommend for the tires to make them stay black and shiny, i was thinking about getting Meguiars Hot Shine Tire Foam, has anybody had experience with this product?

If you did a search on BW or BlackWow, you will find many threads from members here.

It's a great product and works better than most and lasts what seems like forever.

The owner of BW also frequents here...he knows his product. Its expensive but a little goes a long way and I can tell you that it does what it says.

RR

EDIT, just noticed you are Dallas...hello neighbor. Lots of OCD Detailers around these parts...if you get stuck, we'll help ya.

If the trim is too far gone for Black Wow, there's really only 2 other things you can do - Showroom New Trim Restorer (it's a dye) or paint it with Krylon Fusion.

The consensus here for tires is Hyperdressing. The Meguiars Hot Shine (foam or gel) works, but it will sling and turn brown.

Make sure you use the Black Wow exactly as per the directions - if you use too much it will be a pain. A little bit goes a LONG way.

I've had good luck with Black Again. It is a UV activated.

I only really use this on my side cases on my motorcycle, they turn light gray from the sun. Seems to be doing fine with the 2002 bike.

It lasts what I would call a fair amount of time, but I don't know how it compares to the others listed in this thread.

Just another option. Just be sure to follow the directions, apply and put in direct sunlight for it to work, if you decided to try it.
Others have put it on, let the item sit in the sun for 15 min, and are mad at it for not working. That is not following the directions.

yes it will work until it rains... or 24 hours, which ever comes first.

To the OP, use the tested, tried and trued products and methods.

Lol, I get skeptical when I hear stuff like that (peanut butter). I use mother's mack to black? Do you like that?

Back to Black is crap in comparison to the other things mentioned. The only thing it's good for is removing wax residue. It doesn't last and it runs when it rains.

X2, Same for 303, many people like it, but if someone could tell us now to keep it from funning in the rain, I use it more. I use 303 mainly for my Line-X Liner...its great for that and rubber seals on the camper. Other than that, not a fan.

303 all the way! I use it on my truxedo lo-pro as well as all my exterior black pieces. makes them look like new again. i spray it on the cloth and then rub it in for a nice thin application. mine never runs in the rain.

Put it on your bedrails and see what happens.

Good choice.

I would just get one if its for your personal car, the little bottle will last you at least a year or more. They are small bottles but you will quickly understand what we mean when we say a little goes a long way.
