Question for the experts
My wife recently parked her 08 Escape in a parking garage. Apparently the same day they were cleaning the floor above her and all the crap came down on parts of her car. It is a very grainy light colored mixture of probably pigeon crap, oil, pop, and concrete. I was able to scrape most of it off of the glass with a razor blade but the stuff on the paint won't budge. Any recommendations? I have used (in very small areas) goo gone, lacquer thinner, vinegar and polishing compound and it really doesn't make much of a dent in the crap. Am I doomed to take it to a detail shop?

First of all, notify the owners of the garage that you have damage and take pictures to prove it. They are liable for damages here. Second, post pics. It's really hard (even with pics) to tell you exactly what to do, but it sure helps.
Just a thougt though. Have you tried really soaking the thing with car wash soap. (A faom gum really helps here.)

Its a public transportation garage for the Denver area and they have NO liablity! Already tried that road. They are not even liable when their bus drivers get into a wreck, a big scam in the Denver area.
Tried the claybar, got about 80% of the crud but leaves a blemish after 3 times with the bar. Will try to get as much off then use polishing compound and a good coat of NXT.

If you are getting blemishes, you need to take it to a pro. It's gonna need specialized materials and techniques. It will cost you less to take it in than to buy the stuff you need - it's going to need several grades of chemicals and a buffer with different grade pads. It may even need wetsanding.

I'd be really careful with clay if the hunks you're trying to get off are as large as they sound. You may actually induce more marring by breaking them off and moving them around. Use lots of lube, or take it to a pro you can trust. Good luck.
