Tire Scuff Removal

So i got home from work tonight, and my neighbor had a few cars stuffed in the driveway. I could barely squeeze by and ended up scuffing one of my brand new tires. Does anyone have any suggestions on if and how i can remove it?

Someone had recommended using simple green and a bristel brush. So i'll try that, but i just wanted to see if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks.

Nope.. that's pretty much the best way I've found to do it. I read your other post, I'd be pissed too. I love when people park in the lines at walmart.

Should just come off when you clean it. Nothing to really worry about unless it is on RWL.

awww... come on, they're mud tires...

Butyeah, I guess I'd be feeling the same if I was in your shoes... That said, SG+nylon brush = problem solved. Dont forget to dress the tires when you're done!

Well the simple green and tire scrub brush did nothing. I went over it about 6 different times this morning, that scuff doesnt seem to be going anywhere lol.

Maybe i'll throw some tire dressing on and see if that covers it at least.

I wouldnt use any real glossy and wet looking tire gel. Just take some armor-all and use some elbow grease. Almost polish it with the rag and it will recondition the spot that is scuffed. Then just do a regular wash and it will be back to normal.

What about using Black Magic Matte tire finish?
I bought some today but haven't tried it yet. I also bought some Mothers Back to Black, but also havent tried that yet either.

That matte stuff from black magic is really good stuff. i bought a bottle last week becuase i had a minor tire scuff. It took care of it. I liked that stuff so much i think i am going to start using it on my trim. it give a really dark deep look and really doesnt seem to be too shiiny. We just had 10 inches of reain here in 3 days and i drove through standing water multiple times. the product stayed on and still looks great. i was very impressed. Let us know what you think about it.

The matte should work better at hiding it. Gloss will just bring attention to it while the matte will keep it toned down with the rest of the tire.

Thats what i used, the Black Magic Titanium Matte Tire Finish. It's not nearly as visible as it was. And that stuff is awesome, made the tires look very nice. It's easy to put on and has no sling what-so-ever. I think i'm sold on using that stuff from now on, i like it a lot.

And i tried everything that was suggested. Well someone suggested Mothers Back to Black, and then another person suggested scrubbing it with Acetone and i have not tried those two things yet. I'm not extremely worried about the scuff quite as much anymore, its had time to settle in my mind lol. First set of brand new nice truck tires i've ever bought, so thats why it bugged me so much at first.

And i was thinking, i actually need a spare tire and i havent bought one yet. So maybe i outta just buy a new tire, use the scuffed one as a spare, and call it a day. All though i'm still not sure if i want to spend $290 for a spare tire, but you never know when your going to need one i suppose. I dont think it would be to smart to use the spare i have now, considering its a 255/70/17, and the tires i'm running are 305/65/18, and i'm sure it would be difficult to find a used tire in this size. Do you guys usually purchase a 5th tire when you buy nice meaty tires so you have a spare?

Thanks everyone for helping me with my tragic event.

Find a used one out back of a tire shop. Your only going to use it to get back home anyways, right?

I have an extra, matching wheel for my truck too. The lug holes are damaged, but it would get me home if need be. I haven't looked for a spare though since it is parked now.
