Cleaning tools....

Just wondered what your cleaning weapons of choice are as far as, brushes, mits, bug scrubbers etc....

I'm definitely going to invest in a good brush with a long handle! I can bairly reach all of the roof!

I use a microfiber wash mit to wash the body of the truck and an old wash mit to was the tires and wheels, tube steps, and exhaust tip as well as the wheel wells. For the inside use microfiber towels that I really dont care if they get to grungy and some cheap detailing brushes I picked up at a local auto parts store. I also use two buckets with grit guards in them to reduce the chances that I am inducing micro marring in the paint my self. Hope this helps. Also some of the best cleaning tools you have are attached to you hand.

California Duster works well dusting the inside. I wouldnt use a brush on the roof- any swirls you may create with a brush are a PITA to get out later. I stand on the bed rails and use a wash mitt

I do the same thing on the roof. Just make sure that you wash the front of the cab before you do the back or it makes it a little interesting.

Walmart has a dreadlock type wash mitt on a telescoping handle with a swivel head. That's what I use on the roof. Lots safer than a brush.

They are expensive. The only time I would use a brush is if I am washing my dads motor coach or a large truck like a semi where you have alot surface area and quite a reach. Most of the time you are best to you use the two bucket method and a wash mit. I also have two brushes that I use on large trucks. One is for washing the chassis, wheels and stacks. The other is for painted surfaces.

I typically use a set of chisels, axe, and the occasional sledgehammer...

Okay, I really stick to a sheepskin wash mitt and the 2 bucket method. Plastic razor blades are a must for stuff clay wont remove, brushes (nylon) are great for tires, brushes (other types) are good for undercarriage and then for license plates on horrid vehicles... Other than that, I cant think of anything else essential...

That's almost identical to the thing at Walmart - except for the material itself.

x2 on the Cali Duster! I find it to be very helpful in those very hard to reach places.

Being 6'4", I rarely have those problems But why not invest in a 4ft ladder from walmart? I use one for mine when I want to be anal about cleaning... Very handy... Just make sure you don't use it on a hill... falling off stinks!
