I have Pirelli Scorpions with white letters. The letters have a yellow tint to them, and they always look dirty, which makes the truck look awefull.

I have tried Soft scrub, Brillo Pads, Westleys tire white, a combination of all three, and the lettering is still yellowish.

Is there anything else that I can try? There must be a way to get these letters pure white, like they are supposed to be.

Please help?

 

I have used Megs tire cleaner and a brass bristle brush, works fine for me on white letters.

 

try dupont wheel cleaner, it works great on cleaning tires. i have white letters and they stay white.

 

I've used Westleys BW and a nylon bristled tire brush with great results on nasty tires on customers' vehicles. Sometimes, I find it best to spray it on, let sit for about a minute, rinse off, spray on, and scrub, followed by a final rinse with copious amounts of water. Be careful how you spray, though, as it will pit your wheels. Also, keep outside or in a ventilated area, b/c it's a crazy powerful chemical.

 

I've always great results with Westley's. You may try Comet, or something like it.

 

After all the cleaning and they are still dirty you could try a TIRE PEN I use them on my atv's raised white letters.

 

Simple green or Spray 9 almost full strength, say 90% and a scrub brush, do it at every wash= white letters that look nice.

 

Same here. Wesley's Bleech White all the way. Spray, let it sit about 5 seconds, and scrub. Rinse immediately. Repeat as necessary.
This will also strip off any kind of shines or dressings, so re-apply following the cleaning.

 

A brass bristle brush does the trick for me with Simple Green mixed 30:70 with water.

 

I use Simple Green. Full strength and a soft bristle brush. I have used Wesley's in the past but am allergic to it. Simple Green works just as well for me.

 

I have the Firestone Firehawk tires with the solid white letters.I use Comet or Ajax with a microfiber covered sponge.

 

The good ol magic trick is sitting next to your washing machine. Tide with bleach works wonders it will even clean up the oil spots on your driveway.
Just make a paste out of it (you know about a cup full w/ a little water) and use either a green scotch pad or plastic bristle brush. Dont and I repeat Dont use wire brushes on rubber it will damage the tire.

 

You may find this funny but it works. I use a SEPARATE rag and some dirt. Right dirt, dirt will clean those white letters better than any thing you can buy in the store. Scrub the letters, rinse the dirt off the tires and wash to a squeaky clean.

 

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and it works very well on the raised whites.
