Touching up clearcoat?
When opening my door I accidently bumped it against my carport pillar (made of tabby: a cement made of lime, sand or gravel, and oyster shells) I can tell it took off some of the clearcoat, because I can feel it with my finger. No paint was removed or anything; so it's not that serious. But it's got a white line on it. I know I'll go nuts if this isn't fixed. Sooo, what's the easiest, most inexpensive BUT DONE RIGHT way to fix this?
Thanks so much.

Now that I look at it again, it's not really a white line, but looks like a clear edge. What should I do?

Hit ot with a little Scratch-X, then wax the chit out of it and quit banging your car door against solid objects.

Really, ScratchX is all I need?

While I can't tell from the picture, it looks like you went through the color coat... it'd all still be blue if you hadn't... ?

In the picture it LOOKS white but actually is like a wrap of serran wrap... All blue is there, but the clear part feels uneven.

I'm going to have to defer this to someone who feels more confident about giving some suggestion to this ....
I just don't feel comfortable without actually seeing it in person...
It's unmistakable that there's a big WHITE SPOT in your pictures and thus, I can't make heads or tails out of it...

Please don't insist that it is a big, white spot. The camera didn't really do it justice; just wanted a quick pic. Believe me, none of the paint has come off; it's all there. Just what makes it look white is part of the clearcoat which is uneven.
I don't know what to do either. It's such a small deal anyway, I am sure it can be fixed no problem.

Jeez ! You've only had it for a few days and scratched it already
Take it back to the dealer and tell them you just noticed it and want it fixed under warranty
No, really take it back to the dealer bodyshop and ask them for advice. It's too hard to tell what you have done from a picture.

Well, the dealer I got it from is a bit far. Would any Ford dealer look at it? That's a good idea...
edit: It was really just an 'oops' thing, unfortunately.

Not to go too off topic, but I only had my truck for 36 hours when it got damaged. I was on the freeway and ended up behind a semi full of sand. It was going slow so naturally I kept getting closer and closer to it. As I did, the sand was blowing out of the truck worse and worse. I only managed to grab a partial license plate # but got the name of the trucking company. I had an appointment that I couldn't miss, so I didn't have time to get the highway patrol involved. Plus I didn't think it would have done any damage.
Needless to say, the trucking company phone # has been disconnected, and the partial plate didn't pull up anything. I have an address is all and will be going on a drive to see if I can get the full plate #. Highway patrol said if I get them the full plate # they will give me the insurance info so I can file a claim.
Couple small paint chips, windsheild chips, headlight chips. If I can't get them to pay for the damage, is there any way to fix it short of repainting the hood of the truck. Most of it is in the clearcoat, but there were a couple small areas where it chipped the paint (size of a pen tip, very very small)?
edit: btw, I can't take it back to the dealership, they knew the condition of the truck when I took it, and my dad is the shop foreman so I don't want to try to pull a quick one and get him in trouble.

Ouch! I'm sorry. That would be really dangerous if you were in a top-down vehicle!
I guess I'll take my car this weekend to the local Ford dealer and see what they can do. Do you think they'll even care?

Would it be OK to bring my car to a different Ford dealer than from where I bought it from?

You can take it to any dealership you want. My buddy bought his truck at one dealership and takes it to the dealership my dad works at for repairs.

Ok, cool =)
I took some better pics of the door today. I am not as stressed out as I was over it lastnight, just because it's so so minor.

It's really not bad at all.
