window scratch

While moving some debris from the recent hurricanes here in Florida, the back window on my truck got scratched. It looks like white marks on the glass. Is there any way to remove them or to lessen the white look without replacing the glass? They are tinted from the factory and I'm not sure if the tint is on the inside or the outside. Any suggestions?

Scratch? As in 'in the glass' or it's something that is on top of the glass?

Rockpick, thanks for the hint. I was afraid that the scratch was through some coating on the glass, but after reading your reply I very gingerly scraped at it with my pocket knife to see if it was some kind of coating and it scraped off. I am so relieved and appreciative for your responce, thanks.
