Leather conditioner

Lexol is good stuff but a tad on the pricey side, and you'll get a lot of Meguairs fans around here as well.
I'm a Lexol user, and have tried the Meguairs wipes to maintain but they end up leaving streaks. One wipe is good for one section. Takes 4 wips to get the front seats evenly coated. Too much effort for me. Spray Lexol on rag, wipe on. Ahhhh....
If you have King Ranch, some folks swear by the special KR conditioner Ford peddles...

Lexol is nice stuff and, for uncoated leathers, it stands as my favorite (although there are several that I'm anxious to try) but, for coated leathers like the seating surfaces found in a Lariat, my new favorite is Meguiar's Rich Aloe 2-step System.
The 2-step system is made up of a cleaner and a seperate conditioner.
I find that two steps are almost always better than one when it comes to leather care.

Also, for us common folk - what the heck is 'coated' leather and how should the care differ from 'uncoated'. Is it like a scotchguard or something?
I'm all

Mind you, this was on a coated leather surface. Coated leather is basically the standard within the automotive industry with a few exceptions (like King Ranch leather). What that means is that they treat the hides and then generally coat them with a clearcoating product much in the same way that paint is clearcoated. This coating provides protection and durability.

I have the Meg's leather cleaner/conditioner. While it seems to work fairly well, how do you stand the smell? Seriously, mine reeks of a foul medicinal smell that I absolutely can not stand.
My bottles are about 1yo. Are yours newer? And smell better?

anyone have any long term opinions on the Zaino leather cleaner and Leather in a Bottle?
I have been using for a couple of years and really have not found anything that works better, although I must admit I have always kept everything pretty clean so it was pretty much maintenance. Never had to remove stubborn stains.
But CRIKEY!!! The Leather in a Bottle leaves the interior smelling like the seats were freshly skinned. Give it a try!
and I'm a smoker to boot
