Question can anyone tell me what this is? (pic)

its all along the door below the window trim there......Does anyone know what it is and if I could fix it easily?

You just had your truck painted?

Probably some form of overspray. If so, it should be pretty easily addressed by some clay but, I'd take it back to the shop and demand that they fix it as it is probably nothing that you introduced to the truck.

Good luck.

I actualy just took some clay to it and it looks the same.......

seems like its in the paint, also if I look at it from a very wide angle I can see what appears to be a bunch of tiny scratches...

Clay didn't touch it at all? Or only nominally?

Is it only on the chrome parts or also on the paint? From the picture, it appears that, whatever it is, was put on there 'wet' or with a 'wiping' motion.

Can you feel it on the surface?

My fault... it looked chrome because of the flash I guess....

My guess is that you got some bad paint. Looks like the paint gun might have blown some of the previous color or something? I'd have the stealership look at it as I think that's your only hope... especially if it's 'IN' the paint.

Interesting that you posted that as I have one very small area on the front of my hood that is VERY similar to what you posted. I didn't make an issue of it because it was about the size of a small post-it note. Your's, obviously, is much more extensive.

Please keep us posted.

Im still debating weather I want to take it in or not, after all it is going to get torn up after a few years on jobsites anyway. Not sure if its worth the trouble for me.....

Well, torn up or not, it's certainly not what you paid for in my opinion. Naturally, I'm somewhat biased because I'm a paint and body type of guy and live and breath to keep the truck looking perfect. This, of course, would be the one thing that drove me absolutely batty all the way through ownership of the vehicle.

Another thought, this might be something that's noted if and when you trade/sell.

Good luck with your decision and I'm sorry I'm not able to help more.
