rosin roof - See Pictures!!

I should have vented this a year ago…
I moved into a new house and parked my truck in the garage.
There was no ceiling in my garage and it was summer and very hot.
A knot from one of the pine beams oozed a blob of pine sap onto the top of my truck!
I wiped it off with a paper towel but didn’t do anything else.
I guess I had allot else going on at the time.
Now, I think it’s actually eaten away at the paint.
Should I sand the spot off and put touch up paint on it? I think so..I’m just frustrated I guess.
If so..what sand paper would I use?

These picts should send people running home to check thier garages!!!

This shows paint damage done from rosin dripping from a pine beam in my garage.

What should I do? Sand it and paint with touch-up paint.

What grade of sand paper?

Since it's an 85....

Is it a single-stage paint or was it clearcoated when it was painted the second time?

I don't know..
I bought some touch-up paint for it and was told that that year truck didn't need an additional clearcoat to add on top of touch-up paint.

This is what I've got:

1985 Ford Heavy Duty Truck
Medium Canyon Red Metallic Clearcoat 2M

I'm stumped.

I'm just not sure if you have clearcoat on your vehicle or not. From the picture, it appears that it's standard clearcoat failure which can only be corrected by repainting/coating but, I can't be sure.

Anyone else?
