Re Attaching (Sticking) Window Trim

Since getting a new skin on the drivers side door to repair a door crack, the window moulding has gradually come loose. I can see that it is attached with some sort of adhesive that looks like silicone. However, it may not be. Can someone tell me what this adhesive is. I do not want to ruin the paint under the adhesive.
I could try to get Ford to repair this but they had the door skin relpaced by a subcontractor and I don't want to just go over there without Ford's OK. Since adhesive is fairly inexpensive, I figured I'll just do it myself and save myself the time and aggravation of dealing with the dealership.
