Finally got to wax my truck!

Had the perfect weather for waxing today so I thought I would get one good coat on before the locusts sneak up on me. I used Meguire's new NXT wax and car polish and was very impressed.

I had trouble getting the bottle to stay here, it kept sliding off.

This is a closeup of the reflection in my door panel!

Very nice!
Did you do it by hand or with a machine?

I did it by hand. It went on and off easily. One more coat of NXT and I do one coat of #26 and see how it looks.

What type of towel do you use when taking the wax off?

I used some Meguire's NXT on my Dark Shadow Gray Scab last weekend with the same kind of results.
Easy on, easy off and an incredible shine. It rocks

I have been pondering whether or not I should wax my truck yet. I have a bottle of meguire's gold down at the shop that has done wonders to the other vehicles in my household.

Looks great bigsherm!

I've got to take care of mine soon, too. I need to clay, #9, NXT, and then a couple of days later I'll put on #26.

I'm looking forward to trying the NXT.

Just waxed mine last weekend and it sure did turn out nice. I'm assuming that I had the "rail dust" on it because the finsh (hood in particular) was not as slick as it should have been. I first tried the Meguire's polish but it didn't do much good so I tried the clay which was new to me but it worked great. After the clay I used the polish followed by 2 coats of the Meguire's wax. It turned out as slick as baby's u know what. I'm sold on the clay because it worked so nice and easy. Question, what is the Meguire's #26?

Thanks for the compliments. I used a microfiber towel to take the wax off, it worked really well. #26 is a carnouba wax. I don't really know what that means but according to the general care forum, its the best thing to use on top of the NXT. I used #26 (alone) on my old truck and was very pleased. I'm sure Rockpick could give a better answer.

Meguiar's #26 is a premiium yellow carnauba wax blended with silicones, polymers, and other waxes. It's really a high-gloss with great depth kind of product that offers pretty good protection. The protection that you'd gain with NXT is unsurpassed however. Further, it's available in liquid or paste and is considered to be a very good product within the detailing world.
