Swirl removal before Zaino

HI paint gurus.
I have been using Zaino for several years and really like it. My problem is I just got a new black truck that sat on the lot for a few months. The dealer apparently wiped the truck down periodically without washing it. There are a bunch of swirls and fine scatches. Z5 just isn't working. I have a random orbital buffer ready to go, but I need to know what product I can use before the Zaino. I don't want to hide the swirls, so something without fillers would be best.

Thanks for the help.

BTW, never buy a truck at night.

LurchNC,

Boss_429 will probably be along shortly to give more info., but he previously recommended Poorboy's Super Swirl Remover to me to use before Zaino because it doesn't contain any wax or silicone. Poorboy's has:
SSR1: Light Abrasive
SSR2: Medium Abrasive
SSR3: Heavy Duty Compoound.

I bought some SSR1, but haven't tried it yet. I applied Zaino to my new black truck when I got it, but wasn't "wowed" by the result, so I recently tried Meguiars Mirror Glaze products (#9, #7, #26) and was happier with the results.

I also understand that 3M Perfect It III Machine Glaze is a decent product that contains no fillers.

Good luck,

Yep.................... actually, you can use "any" polish you want with Zaino, provided that you come back and clean the paint surface thoroughly, to remove any oils/waxes/fillers that the polish may leave behind. The theory behind using a product like Poorboys SSR1 prior to Zaino was this....................... SSR1 is water based, and contains no silicones, waxes, or fillers, and therefore, one might be able to go right the the "Z" after using SSR1, without worring about cleaning off anything left behind by the SSR1.

Hope this helps.

If you are shopping locally, Meguiars #82 Dual Action Cleaner Polish following by #9 are a great combo. Or, 3M Perfect It II. I would just wash with dish soap after polish and before Zaino.

Thanks for the replies. I also emailed Sal Zaino and he recomended the same thing (use a swirlk remover, then dawn the car and then Zaino) He replied very quickly which I really appreciate.

Thanks all,
Lurch
