I see that 4 people are launching a lawsuit against Canadian dealers for price fixing of vehicles sold in Canada.
As the Cdn $ has improved against the US $ the prices should have come down to par, but have not. I always thought the so called "Free Trade Act" would take care of this problem. More and more people are now looking into importing their cars and trucks from the US to save a few bucks. Too bad that both Chrysler and Honda don't honour the Warranties if bought south of the border.
What do you think the chances are of this going anywhere?

Well, I picked up my 07 SCREW Lariat last month on the "Family Sale" and I'm happy with the price. Ultimately it comes down to what I feel the vehicle is worth to me. The sticker price was $50,898 but on the "Family Price" it dropped to $43,475. The new vehicles have bumper-to-bumper warranties, I don't think I want to head down to the US for small items whenever they shake loose. I'm also reasonably sure that the dealers have room to "move" from the sticker even without the "Family Price". You just have to squeeze them a little more, and try to make deal on a vehicle they actually have sitting on their lot.
The chances of it going anywhere are slim and none. You'd be hard pressed to find a business on either side of the border that has evened up the exchange rate since the Cdn $ hit par.

The increase in the Canadian $$ has helped me out, I purchased a lot of aftermarket performnce items for my truck in the states, installed them my self and did not try to hide any thing from Canada customs.
The parts I bought in the states were a Volant CAI, edge tuner mangna flow cat back ex, I saved over a grand in Cnd $$$.
Prices have not come down in Canada and I doubt they will, Cross boarder shoping is only benifiting the northen US. states and as for buying and importing a new car/truck in the US, if is worth it if you have the cash up front.

I bought 4 Monroe Reflex shocks and including shipping/duty/taxes I still saved almost $250 Cdn. And that was when the dollar was about $0.99 not even at par yet.
I'll email you or post a discount code they gave me to give out to anyone that will get you another 5% off the price when I get home from work.

Where Do you buy your parts online? Ive been having a hell of a time finding places that will ship to canada.
I bought them in the Seatle at pep boys, ( sorry, my rig is a dodge ) But depending on where your located in Canada, its not hard to locate a pep boys, auto zone, on the net that sell after market goodies.
I agree its next to impossible to find go fast stuff in Canada at a reasonable price.
Here is the email code they sent me. I had to post it cuz the forum wont let me send pms yet.
