Damned insurance people. My insurance went up from 811 to 1004/year.
Never had a claim and they tell me the rate group has changed from 15 to 26 for collision or upset and from 23 to 24 for comprehensive. Anyone else have their 2005 F150 insurance go up this year?
You are pretty lucky. As per my signature, I live in Toronto, am retired and I still pay over $2000 for the year. I am with CAA Insurance and have been with them for over 15 years. I have had a couple of accidents, one that was 50/50 with another driver, and another that was 100% the fault of the other driver. I also have home insurance with them, and all discounts are in place. I have been told that I have to wait a year before I can reap any benefits from retirement and that the rate will probably go down by maybe $200.
Shop around, for other quotes. It might be your age group or just the company you are with. If you still think you are being ripped off, contact the Insurance Bureau of Canada and take a look at the options on their site.
CAA in Toronto is now recommending $2mil or more for collision. I have replacement value insurance and I pay a higher premium for that as well.
You have many options to consider.
Good Luck

I found insurance at half the price Bel-Air Direct was charging me. My dad also saved loads when I recommended this company to them. Might be worth a try...

Thanks skyyyz. I will probably stay with CAA. I forgot to mention that the amount I pay also includes replacement value on my trailer as well. Both truck and trailer for $2000. CAA has been very good to me over the years.

Sorry about being late in replying. I've been away.
My age?? I ain't no spring chicken at 57. I've had insurance with these people for 10 years, no accidents, no claims,(EVER) other than a no-fault (someone smacked me while I was parked in a shopping mall lot a month before my renewal notice.) The insurance agent assurred me it was a 'free' claim.
As for the Insurance Bureau of Canada, I e-mailed them, but they never responded. I still don't know what the Rating Group numbers mean, other than she told me that there has been an increase in claims for the 2002 F150's over the past year. So that's why the premiums have gone up for all F150's insured with that company.
I was hoping anyone insured with "The Personal" would let me know if their rates went up, also. Most likely people to have their insurance will be in Alberta.

It appears that ALL F series pickup trucks are lumped together by the insurance agents. Here's where it gets interesting.
F250 & F350 4X4's (2005 year) are in the top 10 of all claims for 2005. So I can understand why the premiums have gone up, BUT F150 4X4's aren't in the list. As a matter of fact, the only time F150's are listed is in the top 10 LEAST Stolen. And they are 1996 & 1998's.
So go figure.
Because F250's & F350's (4X4's) are in the list, we, the F150 owners are getting penalized.
Well my insurance hasnt gone up and i am still paying around $65 bucks a month for full coverage. I even had a big hail damage claim a few years ago on my truck and it didnt change my premiums.
All i can say is if they try to charge me more for insurance i will be giving them an earfull.
HI!... Mine just went down from $137(CAN) to $110(CAN) a month. Thats for two vehicles, plus I've had about 15 speeding tickets since I've been driving, lost my licence once and had a few claims.
When I had my 04 F-150 XLT 4x4, my commerical insurance( full coverage ) was 1450,00 a year in Alberta, no tickets or claims, or accident's, My 06 Ram SLT 2500 4x4went up to 1850.00 a year, no ticket's accident's or claims and I'm in my late thirty's.
Your insurance is mostly based on where you park your car/truck, a smaller town out side of a major city will lower your rates, even if you spend more time on the road driving to a major city, yes, ticket's, claims, age year and make are facters, if I lived in Carsland Alberta, my commerical insurance would drop by 1/2 ....
