Entertainment in Vancouver?

My girlfriend and I are going to Vancouver for the weekend of 11-13 and was wondering what kind of things there are to do for adults? (early-mid twenties). I know Vancouver has all sorts of things compared to my tiny town but it's been so long since I've spent any lengthy period of time there I don't know what/where anything is.
Anyone have any ideas? TIA

Pretty tough question to answer without any idea of what eaxactly you might want to do, but here are some sites to check out:

http://www.discovervancouver.com/eventcalendar.asp

http://www.vancouver-bc.com/Events/

http://www.npsnet.com/danf/events.html

http://www.clubzone.com/events/

Have fun, and enjoy your stay.....I'll be leaving town going camping, so have no personal suggestions that week....take care of the place for us!

I thought one would say that. I didn't put an idea in because I don't really know. I still like to act like a kid at times (last night I went to Ruckers.) but I also like to do mature things and at the same time I sometimes like to go drinking.

I didn't mean adult like "adult" I meant I don't want to go to Chucky Cheese. Do we even have those in Canada?
She wants to go to the aqaurium and we both want to go to Chinatown. On our way out she wants to go to Ikea (HELP ME!) but that leaves us with Friday night some of Saturday day and Saturday night for something to do. So I guess I'm looking for the night scene.

If you like live music and are lookin for a night time scene, go check out The Roxy, and see what they have in store. Everytime im there I have a good time, good mix of 20+ people in there, good tunes, good bar service, have been there many times and have not had any issues with morons starting fights or anything. Bouncers aren't complete wankers either which is kind of refreshing.

What type of music is it typically? I think we might take it easy and go to a Jazz club or something for one of the nights anyways. Probably Friday as it'll be a long drive after working all day.

The Roxy has a typical house band....70-90's rock & roll dance type songs....fun party music, but certainly not progressive or ground breaking.

If you are going to be here on a Fri, Sat or Sunday night, there's a really cool Chinese night market in Chinatown and in Richmond. I personaly like the Richmond one the best....lots of crazy stuff, lots of food (don;t eat before you go), and lots of people....it's a pretty cool experience.

If you can pick up a Georgia Straight newspaper in Kamloops, which I would think you could, that would be a great guide to any/all entertainment for the week you'll be here. It's the best source for what's going on around town. Here's the website, which may also have some useful info:

And you might find some jazz related stuff here:

ask the police.

Seriously. The cops know where all the best bars are and where to stay away from.

Hey, that's actually not a bad idea. I think we're still looking for something early Saturday night.
She wants to go to the Aquarium, China town and Ikea and we're going to the Improve show on Granville Saturday night, but that doesn't start until 23:45. Friday night I can't imagine us doing much of anything because I work at 06:30 and will be driving for 3.5-4 hours right after work so I'll be bagged. We may go to a Jazz club.
