Canadian Direct Insurance?

Anyone have/had Canadian Direct insurance? What do you think of it? I called them today and they can save me near $400/year which when you think about it isn't a whole lot, but that's a new HU or some other mod every year. I just don't want any hassels if I need to make a claim.
Comments? Suggestions?

You hit the nail on the head, I can't comment on this company because Manitoba has public insurance. They can promise savings but what you need to look into is what the service is like if/when you need to make a claim.

canadian direct dos not offer commerical insurance, my Commerical insurance rate ( alberta ) is 500.00 cheaper than thier reg rate on a 04 F-150 with full covergae, and I thought 1700.00 CDn was extream, no claims or at fault accidents, licensed in Calgary, IF I were to move to a quiet sleepy little town a 1/2 hr east, my rate would be 1/2 for the same coverage with my existing insurance company, you pay big time when you live in a urban area.

My insurance with ICBC is $2200/year with no claims/tickets/penalty points/whatever and a 20% discount. Canadian Direct wants $1938.40 - $700 basic coverage I still have to pay ICBC.

don't do it buddy. my friend went with them cuz he thought like you do. he thought he could save 400-500 dollars with them. then he got in a wreck in an intersection. you would not believe the hassle he had to go through. some things just aren't worth it.

That's what I figured. Thanks guys, $33/month just didn't seem worth the risk.

icbc sucks that is thru, but at least someone talks to you once in a while. this guys at CDI are just umbelievable. i got my truck stollen a month ago. it was recoverd but for 2 weeks they would not even let me look at it!!!!! just like area 51 after that i providem with all the documents for maintenance, and all the stuff that i instaled on the truck since new. 2 weeks later, my adjuster is not answearing the phone or returning calls, this is my second one after i dumped the first one. in the meantime i am making payments on my truck and they are charging my account for insurance if you can believe that!!!! so I am paying for something that I do not have and use, and they are just staying low, thinking maybe that I will forget about it or what!!!! Stay away people, I never liked ICBC but from ICBC you might see something if you have insurance. At the end of the days they are all the same, just some money grab legalized robery
