Post First time F150 buyer needs help

I'm new to F150's. I'm close to buying an XLT Super Cab long bed. Does anybody have any good or bad experiences they would like to share?
Thanks

Cool

I am very well satisfied with the (2) F150's in our family & the Company F150. My dailey driver is 1979 w/ 300 6-cyl. 158,000 & has orginal alternator, distributor pick-up & brain box. Engine work done to 79 (which I've owned sine 1987). (2) carb. rebuilds, (2) waterpumps & (1) fuel pump which was still working fine--replaced fuel pump & waterpump before 2500 mile trip in 1996 (as preventive maintenance).
Mama's 99, F150 has had leaky rear sliding window replaced. (1) pass. side door actuator repl. & some hose clamps & valve cover re-torqued. All of these repairs were covered under warranty.
Company 97 F150 has 157,000 miles. Gets ran hard 5 to 6 days a week. No problems with these truck either. (2) sets of frt. brakes, (2) lower ball joints @ 73,000 miles. Just started on 2nd. "purchased" set of tires @ 146,000.
Welcome to the world of F150's. Gearmanx17.

Cool

Check other threads (ie "Dealers", "Truck Costs", etc). There's a lot to learn on this site, I wish I found this before I bought my 2001 SCrew. My buying experience would have been better and I would have known about Gen I, II, III & IV vehicles.

Study up and then join the F150 crew....
Good luck and let us know how it went..

Question

MrBill,

What is the Gen IV Screw? I have a Screw on order and am now curious about the Gen IV. This is the first I've heard about it.
