Converting rear drums to disk

Anyone done it? I've wanted to do it for some time now with all factory parts, but I'm pretty hesitant to buy the parts and not know if it's do-able.

Can anyone tell me if there would be any reason why I couldn't retrofit 99-up rear disk to my 98 F-150 w/ 8.8 axle?

Not sure about 99 to 98 compatability but these guys sell a kit that works.

I know a guy who did it to his 98 lifted f150 4x4.

if you're going to go through all this hassle, why not just buy a used 9.75 that already has disc brakes? The axle will be much stronger, and you'll probably come out about the same/less in price.
