New bedliner installed

Hey guys - FINALLY got my bedliner sprayed in. As far as looks go, I couldn't be happier. I ended up getting Speedliner, I was originally going to go with Line-X but the nearest dealer is out of town. I waited 6 weeks for an opportunity to get out there, but my schedule is so crazy and I lost patience and got it done locally.

The job was done at MINCO truck accessories in Panama City, FL. I went there on the advice of a guy I know who owns a construction business. He said he's been having all his trucks done there for years and never had a problem. Total cost including tax $418. Here's the pics...

Next up, window tint. If my brother remembered to make the appointment for me, it should be done by the end of the week.

I used to spray Speedliner here and never had any complaints at all. I would put it up against any Line-X or Rhino out there. They were actually the first ones to use Kevlar in the mix, that Line-X is now promoting in theirs, and the Speedliner is guaranteed to not fade or discolor without having to pay more for an extra topcoat.

Not taking stabs at you Truckgasm, you know I have allways seen Speed as a better enb product even though it does have a longer drying and curing time and is a little tougher to apply.

No problem, two reasonable men can differ.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that all Speedliner dealers do is to open up a little bottle of Kevlar and pour it in the resin.

LINE-X and Dupont spent over two years experimenting with the Kevlar and other ingredients of Xtra. LINE-X currently is the ONLY authorized user of Kevlar for spray-on bedliners. That comes from LINE-X's Dupont rep who told me that personally.

The kevlar is actually in a bag and you do just add it to the resin. Speedliner comes in gallon cans and you mix the two components. the base resin and hardener. You add the kevlar before you add the color or pigment whichever you want to call it. Speed has been using kevlar for years just haven't gone to the expense to work with dupont the way Line-X has to get the authorized use moniker (sp?).

To clarify a little I haven't had any experience with Line-X in the last 3-4 years and the only ones I saw before I didn't like at all they were all faded and cured extremely hard and slick like a drop-in and were sprayed thin less than an 1/8".

Had a customer in last week that was very dissapointed I wasn't doing Speedliners anymore, but they were just as pleased with the Bedrug they left with.

Hence the need for Xtra (to prevent fading and loss of gloss). Some people have asked, why doesn't LINE-X include Xtra all the time? The answer is because LINE-X products (there are several) are used in many other applications not just truck beds and Xtra may or not be needed for those applications. Such as water containment, pipe coatings, floors, etc. Specifically at my shop: Airline loading ramps, gurney mounting brackets, Border Patrol holding cells, etc.
