I took the poor man's way out, aka frugality

I purchased a F150 bed mat and F150 tail gate protector. A $125 investment. Plus I can remove the mat when not being used. I don't plan on carrying anything other than furniture, brush, construction materials (home depot stuff.)

Thumbs up

A local truck shop sells Pendaliner bed liners for $99.00,$106 with tax, installed.I had one installed last week in my 07.I figure that will do for now until I save enough for a Line-X liner.

You'll be fine but you'll probably get a few scratches on the walls. I notice work trucks all the time with no bedliner at all, the bed is scratched to hell, dented, whatever, but other than cosmetically they seem to function fine. I think people get too hung up on protecting the bed.

It all depends on what you are using your truck for. I had the Line-X installed b/c I use my truck on a Construction Site. I regularly use the truck to haul ext. doors, lumber, trim, steel beams, etc. Before the Line-X, my bed took a beating, since then, it has been great and looks like the day that it was installed.
