There is a thread on another forum discussing the VP, the model has changed. On Bak's website, the VP does not show the bolt hole covers and D-rings, the cover is completely smooth. A person bought the cover wanting the smooth version, but received the new design like the one PawPaw has. (I had to brighten your picture.)

The ring's come in handy for bungee's...I've used them a couple of times already.

Check the D-rings periodically for missing paint. I hear they will rust if you scratch the paint off.

Drove through a South Louisiana heavy rainstorm last Friday night and to my surprise only one leak by the tailgate and not that bad. 4 inches of rain in 2 hour's with 50 mph wind gust's. On a narrow 2 lane highway to make thing's worse. Glad I was in my truck!

Just got back from a close to a week stay in Houston...rained just about daily just like SE Louisiana but had no leak's from the cover. Had the bed filled up with luggage too. So far so good!

Replaced my UWS low pro tool chest with the Bakflip VP. Had it for 18 months, and still looks like new. Get so much use out of it.

Cover is holding up great...minimal amount of water leaks even going through our monsoon like rain in South Louisiana. Everyone likes the looks of it...not just me!

Just got back from a trip to North Carolina and the cover worked great. Kept the luggage dry going through some rain with no leaks. We had a slight freeze Saturday morning and the panels were a little iced up but they opened and folded up to load our luggage and no problems. Still in great shape after close to 2 yrs on the truck and I'm well satisfied so far.

I'm really leaning toward this cover for my new 2016. Last truck had a soft vinyl folding cover (rugged cover) that was in great shape after ten years. I would think that the vinyl cover on rigid panels is the best of both worlds. I saw an undercover flex that was sun faded after three years. Back in '06, I think truckaddons.com was the go to online site. Looks like autoanything or Amazon are big now. Hoping for a promo soon.

Great pics PawPaw...these might've sealed the deal.

Thx,

Al
