Need Recommendation for Bedliner & Alarm

My son just purchased a new F150 Super Crew and needs to install a bedliner and alarm. He is a cabinet maker in northern San Diego County, CA. His previous F150 had a molded plastic liner that cost about $200 that worked OK but didn't wear well. I understand that one option he has is to have a 'spray-on' liner, e.g., Rhino or Line-X. What are the key advantages/disadvantages to this approach and which is best? Or is a molded liner from Ford other other supplier the better way to go? We know where Rhino is located but where do you find Line-X in San Diego/Temecula?

Also, he needs to install a car alarm. What seems to work best and is a good value? Thanks.

Fred

Go with spray-on. It will prolong life of the bed and mine seemed to quiet the ride down a little as well. If you do a search you will find plenty info on the different linings.

Night and day difference between spray-on and add-on liners.

I went with Line-X based on the stuff I read at this site. Seems they do the "little things" a bit better. Had mine done a couple weeks ago and it's great!

Look at their web site to search for dealers:

I have a LineX and love it! I have hauled logs and gravel in mine and after I hose it out, it still looks like new. One of the advantages of any spray in liner is that things will not slide around in the bed. They also don't rub the paint off in the bed.

I bought a Cobra secruity system for my truck. It was about $400 but it comes with keyless entry, alarm and remote starter that comes real handy during the summer and winter.

Go with any of the major brands and you will be alright. I am an installer, and I suggest Viper, Hornet, Python, Ungo, Alpine, any of these will do fine. This is just IMHO

Just had a Line-X sprayed in yesterday. Have always used a drop in type before but after reading items in this forum and talking to people, decided to go with spray in. Results look good and am glad I went this way. Good Luck!

Spray In All the Way

I had a "Tuff" sprayed in... almost 1/2 inch thick on the floor and taligate... lifetime warranty... if you were to manage to rip it with a full 55 gallon drum or some such, the simply cut out the bad part and respray it. Comes in matching colors.

Makes the truck quieter. Looks much better. Keeps things from sliding around. And unlike a drop in liner, you can't get water underneath it which is a chief cause of premature bed rust.
