I'm sure this has been asked before, but will a canopy from 97-03 with a 6.5' bed fit an 04 with a 6.5' bed?

 

As long as it's not a step side then your good to go

 

Are you sure? The bed rails are different- it may not fit snugly

I need to know the reverse - will a cap from an 04 Ford F150 SuperCab (6.5 ft. bed) fit my 2000 f150 Lariat extended cab 6.5 foot bed? I found a nice looking cap on an 04. I searched for specs on the site as someone suggested and the only thing I could find is on the kanopykingdom site, which lists overall bed dimensions and cab rake. From that it looks like the cab rake is the same, but the 04 bed is 3/4" longer and 3" wider at the front, same width at rear. It seems to me the difference in front width could be an issue. How are the bed rails different?

 

I'm not sure of the new trucks, but looking down my side mirrors, you can in fact see the bed rails bend. On a top down view, it looks just like the parenthesis , but at less of an angle at either ends--> ( )

 

On my 2000, the inside of the rail looks dead straight, and the outside bows out a bit in the middle, maybe an inch or so, so it's wider in the middle.

 

The 2004 is a complete different body style so I don't really think it will fit your 2000

 

I think you're right. The 3" difference in width at the fronts seems like too much. If I find one that's close I might try measuring it. All I've found so far are 2 hrs drive away.

 

Ya cuz 3inches is alot when it come to stuff like that and it will prob hang off the sides

 

If you are talking about early 2004 (OBS) then I don't see the problem. If you are talking about 2004.5 (NBS) then you'll end up with this:



I didn't keep it very long because I couldn't get over the poor fitment. I hope the picture helps you figure it out.
