What kind of liner should I get?

I am going to buy a new F150 and want to get some feedback on which liner to get. I want a spray-on liner but understand there are lots of choices. Which one is best? Toff, LineX, Rhino, other? Why is it better? Can I get it from the factory or does it have to be installed by dealer?

Different people will say different things depending on their personal experiences.

I personally will never put anything but Line-X in my trucks.

I have had it on my old 2005 Dakota and now my 2008 F150 and only once have I had a problem.

The one time I had a problem was a small bubble that was there when it was installed but I didn't notice it as much. Then one day while cleaning the bed I noticed it was a good bit larger. The second I saw it I drove to the Line-X dealer that installed it and they fixed it the next day.

X2 I have used Line-x in my truck bed as well as several other applications and I will never have anything but. Best product and best warranty IMO.

Not exactly correct, but the LINE-X and Rhino warranty are certainly a step up from other brands.

They warranties only apply to: crack, bubble or peel.

Regardless which sprayed-on liner you select, make sure that the place will take their time and do it well. My experience with Rhino has been great with both of my trucks. They taped up (or removed) the towing hooks and the tailgate hardware. Overall they did a very good and professional job. I have a friend that had his truck sprayed at a custom shop where they sell after-market truck parts (bumpers, mats, etc.). They sprayed everything, he could not even open his tailgate. He had to go back and have them break pieces off the new liner to get it open. I guess in his case, he got what he paid for.

I have used Line-X in my last three trucks. Never had an issue. They remove the frame bolts, tie downs, tailgate latch access bolts and any other items that you don't want sprayed over. Line-X is sprayed at a higher pressure and temperature than other spray-ins. This results in a more dense and stable liner, able to take more abuse. Also seems to have more grip than the Rhinos I've seen, by grip I mean that the texture of Line-X is a little rougher, therefore more tactile.

I had a Vortex spray in liner in my F-250, and it was a decent product...but I wont do anything besides a bedrug anymore. I had one (bedrug) in my f-150 for 7 years and it still looked new the day I traded the truck in. A quick powerwash when it was muddy, or a quick sweep from the shop vac when it was full of whatever else. Much easier on the knees than a spray in, nothing slides, and removable if you need too. I know you didn't ask about other types of liners, but it is worth considering.

Ultimate Grip-It is low pressure polyurethane and will look like old Rhino Tuff Stuff when it's new. It's not a very strong product, the tear strength is only 187 pli according to Ultimate's data sheet.

Utlimate HP is high pressure and will look just like LINE-X.
