Help with G4-Elite fold-a-cover
Anyone from the Dallas area installed a G4-Elite fold-a-cover?
I cannot figure this thing out. If you have experience with this type of cover, can you help a brotha out? I understand if there is a fee, I just want to make sure it is done right....
thanks in advance..............

Scroll down to the Ford section on the following page and there's a list of install instructions available depending on the year and bed style of your truck.

I just want to give "two thumbs up" to truckgasm and his crew for helping me get my G4-Elite installed. It looks amazing. It is not often you meet someone who is willing to help you out without any strings attached. I will say this, he did not request a single favor in return for his assistance. He really just wanted to help and for that I give him "props"...great guy!!!!

I'm really going around in circles on these bed covers. I started out leaning towards the BAKflip then decided against it because of all the parts and drain hoses required. Then, I was going to order an extang Solid Fold today and discovered it won't work with the factory flip-over bed extender. Now I'm looking into this Fold-A-Cover G4 ELITE with the Personal Cady with optional tray. I have an '09 SuperCrew with 5.5 ft bed.
After looking at the instructions my question is "do you have to drill holes in your bed rails to secure it to the truck. I see it has a compond clamping system up front but they show drilling holes in something and I can't tell whether it's the truck or the Fold-A-Cover rails.
FOLLOW UP:
I finally gave up on the G4 and bought the extang Solid-Fold cover. I really like the simplicity of it and how it's mounted and with my locking tailgate, it's totally secure.

The fold a cover has tons of moving parts, snaps, clamps etc. It's virtually impossible to take on and off and doesn't give you access to the bed. It covers your stake holes and sits like a brick with oversized locks and cheesy piano hinges. In all honesty, the BakFlip has no moving parts. The rails are way simpler and superior to any other folding cover. That's why it's an OEM Ford part. You don't need to drill any holes for the drains, they simply pop through existing plugs in the truck. I'd go with the BakFlip HD or new G2. it's an incredible cover. Just ask any online tonneau company and that knows their stuff properly and you'll find that there's simply no better cover than BakFlip. It's really not even close!

Well, I'll respectfully disagree with the last comment. The FoldACover does not have tons of moving parts, it does not have snaps, it does have clamps and so does the Bakflip. The Bakflip does have moving parts, more than the FoldACover. The FoldACover has locks, the Bakflip does not, which means you have to open your tailgate everytime you want to open the Bakflip. The FoldACover does not have the reputation of falling apart like the Bakflip G1 and G2-Plastic, nor does the FoldACover have the reputation of the seals wearing out in one year like the Bakflip. The HD was discontinued in less than one year. The G2-Aluminum and F1 have not been out long enough to determine their durability.
All covers have their pros and cons, but the Bakflip is not "superior" in any form or fashion.
