Holes in Bed Liner

Just looking for a little insight here. I recently bought a 2004 F150 FX4, and by the looks of it the previous owner had a fifth wheel bolted to the bed of the truck. I am now left with 4 bolt sized holes through the bed liner and bed of the truck. What would be the best way to seal these holes up so water doesn't get under the bed liner? I was thinking 4 galvanized bolts and some sort of silicone?

Take the bed liner out and replace it or get a bed mat, or spray-in liner. I would give you mine If I take it out and do a spray-in. Drop-ins are the worst IMO. Adding some plugs and sealant might look just as weird.

Really there is nothing to worry about any water that would go through the holes would go through the drain holes that are in the bed for that purpose. Only 4 holes like that would indicate that the hitch was installed on top of the liner which is very stupid to do. But if they are of a concern to you the idea of the bolts and silicone will work fine.

I was only concerned that water may get trapped and rust. The box is a flareside so there is plastic also on the top sides of the box. They definately mounted it on top, as you can see the difference of colour as the sun hasn't hit it as long.

What is the best kind of silicone to use if I go this route?

Also, what do spray in liners, like rhino liner, usually run you?

What do you think about putting a bolt back in the hole?

take the plastic liner out and start from scratch. best bet is to weld the holes closed, and go with a spray on liner at this point. the plastic liner will juse trap moisture now so just yank it out.

also do it your self spray-on liners are VERY easy to apply! BUT.....USE THE PROFESSIONAL KITS YOU BUY FROM SHERWIN-WILLAMS!! not auto zone. take the plastic liner out...easy, sand the inner bed, will take you and your best friend about a 12 pack of beer and 30 min hahaha. then go to town spraying. hardend REAL THICK and VERY durable. my buddy and I made alot of money one summer doing this as a side job to make money to buy a boat by poasting an add on craigslist. have yet to ever have an unsatasfied customer!! good luck sir!
